Deathknight Madness in round 50?

Postby Walker on Thu Sep 06, 2012 3:06 pm

With red realm set to end in 3-5 days, we should probably discuss this in the forum. That is if people in chat were serious about the idea.

The most recent version of the rules is this:

In order to get the fifth DK, you must have at least the green D. Obviously, this is going to apply only to those who are competitive players or people who read the forum. We can post reminders in the daily news or send messages. Whether you want to have DMT, DM, WhiteDM, or any other combination is up to you. If you find yourself on DK4, level 12, with 18D, 32M, 15T or so, you need to get +2 D points in order to complete the win. (This is not likely going to be a problem, I think. People will have D well before then.) naLLe thinks that just DM would look the best. Of course, just a white D alone would be extremely impressive. (12 M for LS is still going to be necessary, I'm sure.) Horse kill as much as you want, but please, oh please, do not try to get a horse for that fifth DK if you don't have at least the green D. Or, perhaps, if you have a horse, we could make an exception to the end day alive at 12 rule in those extremely limited situations on DK5. Again, I really don't think people are going to lack a D by the time they get to level 12 for the fifth DK. Basically, it slows things down a little - but probably not all that much.

If someone steals the win playing as he/she normally would, that's part of the fun. We haven't decided 'who' the rule applies to, but I was thinking it would be best if it was only the competitive players, even some who have not won a round. Of course, we could let those who don't have a title play however they want.

Variations/suggestions are welcome.

Anyway, post here if you're in, I guess. 8)

No sirree! Test doesn't exist - and it doesn't log the stats -- O! To be famous for winning with DM rather than MT like most (probably most) previous games. :D

Trivia question: Who is the only player to win a round while half mastering D?

Nope. I've never been a Death Knight in a competition realm (at least not one I intended to finish). However, the early rounds (first dozen or so) may have had a Death Knight in there somewhere that is no longer recorded.

I'm gonna go with Sky Lynx. (Ok, fine, I looked it up).

Have fun with the DeathKnight thing. If you remind me, I'll donate a bunch of forum gems to the winner if no other reward is derived.

So far, I'm voting this Death Knight thing kinda sucks. There's no wonder why it's advised against.....especially since I'm never a contender. WTF.....at least it's something different.

There are plenty of people not playing as a D, so feel free to switch. Also, it's not as if we're playing exclusively as Ds anyway - when it's advantageous, switch. The only real thing to note is that people who are participating in this cannot get the game-winning dragon kill UNLESS they have a D next to their name. Others, of course, may play however they want.

We did it, you're right, because it was different. :whistles: :)!

With 5 T's. LS, and 1 DK or so, I'm ready to compete.....and lose in style.
Luck to all.

I don't know about the others, but I think it has been fun to play as the lesser class. Kudos to naLLe for trying for a white D, if he's still doing that. If he pulls it off, color me impressed. ::wub::

Any ideas for future shenanigans? Next round blue? 8) ::oneeye::

I'll be impressed if he pulls off the comeback against Ether, white D or no white D.

I changed back to D today and going to keep it until the end, which means that I need to choose WISELY just once to have a chance to win this round with white D. It won't be easy to catch Ether, but I do my best.

(I have D:21, M:32, T:5 at the moment. Leveling up to 12 gives me +7 to D and there's +11 available next run --> D:39)

Woo Hoo! Just got my First Green "D" in the history of the world, Part 1. With only 2 DK's, that still puts me solidly in 2nd place behind farfegnugen for this category. Life is good.

Also, congratulations to falknhayn for pulling off the win while competing. A great effort and now a Nuklear legend! ::king::
